Right now hundreds of thousands of people are suffering because of an unregulated arms trade. This year for the first time we have the opportunity to create a treaty that would ensure this deadly trade is properly controlled.

The arms trade is out of control and is fueling conflict, poverty and human rights abuses worldwide. Every day at least 1,500 people die from armed violence and conflict.

In July, world leaders meet in New York to draw up the first ever international Arms Trade Treaty - a document that will determine how this deadly trade is controlled.

We have been campaigning for this for decades but if they get it wrong we may never get another chance to put it right.

We are calling for a comprehensive bullet proof treaty that protects human rights and saves lives.
