Syria is a sharp reminder of precisely why we need a strong arms trade treaty

The distressing scenes of ferocious and unrelenting military assaults on the Syrian city of Homs, are a sharp reminder that the world needs to have tougher controls on the arms trade, and urgently. Since protests began in Syria last March, Amnesty International has recorded the names of more than 5,500 people who have been killed, and the death toll rises daily.

With no UN arms embargo in place and with Russia still supplying Syria with weaponry, it is clear that the current rules regulating global arms are weak and ineffective.

I lost my speach ! I do not know how to write about this inhuman behavior of India at Bangladesh border! Is there any leader in the world to protest this terrorism to Bangladeshi innocent people? I am just shocked, just shocked!
When Bangladeshi people are getting upset then Indian vultures, so called Border Security Force are killing people like birds!
In the picture, Indian-BSF killed an innocent Bangladeshi girl and carrying her body as animal. Some Indian people are also terrified about this brutality.

Recent killing Bangladeshi innocent people at the border, building dam on Bangladeshi rivers and their brutal activities have surprised the Bangladeshi people.

A controversial inquiry into allegations of wrongdoing by the UK's security services is being scrapped.

Justice Secretary Ken Clarke said the inquiry into the treatment of detainees could not continue because of Metropolitan Police investigations.

These follow fresh allegations that officials assisted the rendition of men to Libya, where they were tortured.
